About The Contest
The first ever Olympiad of Misguided Geeks contest at Worse Than Failure (or OMGWTF for short) is a new kind of programming contest. Readers are invited to be creative with devising a calculator with the craziest code they can write. One lucky and potentially insane winner will get either a brand new MacBook Pro or comparable Sony VAIO laptop.
Entry #100153: SeCa (Secure Calculator)
The main problem is to provide _correct_ results. You may just call op1+op2, but hell, who knows if it will be correct?
Today, computer architectures are increasing both in functionality and complexity. Therefore it is even harder to know that the CPU pipeline is working correctly. If you do the calcs with just simple statements it is a lot more secure because you know what really happens.
I am even prouder that you will not find any of the following symbols (as operators) in my code, only in strings and variable initialization.
The calculator was also tested with the popular valgrind memory checker.
