Getting Started

Here are some tips to get started:

1. Get a compiler.
   • Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition (free).
     • Set up your environment for use with the Microsoft Platform SDK.
   • GTK+ 2.0 (free)
2. Bone up.
   • MSDN has free documentation, including a Getting Started guide.
   • GTK+ provides in-depth tutorials.
3. Get started.
   • We have a skeleton solutions you can use:
     • Win32 (Visual C++) skeleton
     • GTK+ 2.0 skeleton (coming eventually)
   • Or you can create your own solution. Just be sure you’re giving us something we can compile in Visual Studio 2005 or earlier, Visual C++ Express, or GTK+. If your entry doesn’t meet those criteria, provide a makefile.
